Fairchild Semiconductor | I6368GD904 [2008]

One of a series of works exploring imagery associated with unsolicited bulk email. The series has a particular focus on distressed imagery, recognisable fragments buried under clouds and strata of digital noise. ‘I6368GD904’ suggests a contemporary, found form of impressionism.

Swiss born commercial artist Fairchild Seminconductor has been based in Ireland since the early 90s and is currently based in a studio on Ireland's west coast.

Semiconductor has collaborated with artists and designers worldwide, including design collective Fehler, record label 1,024, and Fällt Publishing. Semiconductor's work is held in a number of public collections internationally, most recently purchased for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland's permanent collection.

Semiconductor's work centres on design and digital arts with an information focus and often utilises chance processes and found elements.
